Abstract

The present work deals with tax immunity on electronic books e-book, with its tax immunities, granted by the federal government, as a way of encouraging culture and stimulating cultural development. In this way, a study of the main principles of tax law, namely: the study of the tax immunities, making an advance on the institute, demonstrate its juridical nature and its extensive form of interpretation. Secondly, the study of the interpretations of immunity and its extensiveness, granted to electronic books, which through its recent judgment of the STF had its extensive interpretation, failing to make a literal and definitive interpretation regarding the purpose and promoting an even greater development, through of the extensive interpretation, of alteration of the means of information. Having as incentives the reading and the information. And finally, making evident the positive and negative benefits of tax immunity on electronic books.
