Abstract

The term "abandoned child" refers to children or adolescents who have no parents or guardians to meet their basic needs such as housing, education, affection, security, etc. Kids and teens abandoned by their parents are not an exclusive problem in Brazil. In agreement with a human rights report recently presented at the UN, there are currently millions of abandoned children in the world. UN representatives recently announced: "Abandoned, discarded, rejected and thrown away: over 150 million children in homelessness worldwide suffer severe deprivation and violations of with little or no consideration given to their best interests ". The problem exists in various parts of the planet and reveals that the issue must be dealt with carefully and broadly as impoverishment globalized and social inequalities tend to increase if there is no redirecting the economy as well as governmental public policies, especially in poor or developing countries
