UNEMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION AND CRIME: HOW THESE SOCIAL FACTORS ARE CLOSELY LINKED

Abstract

The theme of this article is “unemployment, schooling and crime: how these social factors are intimately connected”. It was investigated how a society can reduce crime rates through investment in efficient public education and reduce the social impacts brought about by the industrial revolution, which, until today, make manual human labor substitutable for mechanical work. The following hypothesis was considered “society can reduce crime rates through investment in efficient public education and reduce the social impacts brought about by the industrial revolution”. The overall objective is to demonstrate how better investment in public education can reduce crime rates. The specific objectives are to identify the roots of the problem and prove that investment in efficient public education reduces the social impacts brought about by the industrial revolution. This work is important, from an individual perspective, due to the need to study the social behaviors that have led to the current exorbitant levels of criminality and to elucidate the best solution to the problematic topic. It is also relevant because it collaborates with the study of criminal behavioral sciences and adds to society because it tries to reduce the crime rate, from the perspective that a better investment in education will achieve this end. This is qualitative theoretical research lasting six months.
